Beijing Airport to Upgrade Terminal 2, Adding 4th Runway

Beijing Capital International Airport is taking efforts in elevating competitiveness in the world. Reporter learns from the 4th Global Friend Airports CEO Forum that Beijing airport intends to increase ratio of international flights and upgrade Terminal 2 to enhance experience of international flyers. Meanwhile, it is going to build the 4th runway and put in use before 2018.

Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd. General Manager Shi Boli says that Beijing Capital Airport’s goal is to become large scale international air hub in the future.

Shi Boli introduces that, in long term, Beijing Capital Airport wishes to host 175,000 international flights annually, taking up 30% of total capacity, and accommodate 28.5 million international passengers, taking up 33%. “We wish to establish more air channels with One Belt One Road nations, currently half of them still do not have direct flight to Beijing.” He also says that Beijing has plan to establish direct flight to Berlin, Atlanta and Manchester.
